okays, so we shouldnt compare utaite to others or to vocaloids.
but what, if an utaite is known for this? e.g.ali with gumi or pokota with gackt (or however he was called orz)
and what about this?
"A few of his fans have suggested that his voice is similar to Vic Mignogna's (Bleach, FMA, Tsubasa Chronicles)." (Ashe's article)
"His wild singing style has been noted to be similar to that of Yoppei" (Akatin's article)
also i wonder if it really would be that insulting, if we wrote e.g. "Rin type-voice" (as for Matsushita and Vivienne) (<-- i deleted that part though)
I don't think utaite would be inclined to be very involved in nndict because it does cater to the fan community and have a lot of popular opinion and also they wouldnt want to color others' opinions of themselves. In addition, people can make their own articles but they are with an l and not a before the article name in the url. for example, some namanushi make their own pages for publicity's sake. however, I haven't even seen personal articles for utaite.
I haven't looked much into vivienne much especially because I learned about her from this wiki so I was kind of given the idea she was rin type before I ever heard her stuff. Since I don't follow her or anything, my impression of her is more from seeing group sings that give her rin roles and reading the wiki than experiencing her solos.
hmm.. i thought about it like e.g. lauramegurine editing her own article... but w/e
yea about vivienne.......
i did ever listen to even one her songs... orz
but regarding this part of the article
"She duets most often with Ten , forming the "Viviten" collaboration base. The duo are also often called RL! Rin and Len due to their similar thin, strong voices and nice balance."
isnt that a proof, that the fandom thinks of her as a rin voice? (and of ten as a len voice)
Singers editing their own articles are really very rare though aren't they. I would expect it to be even more rare on nndict because it has more anonymity than wikia and no admin contact.
Yes, I always thought that tidbit was very important to the description of her character and so describing her as a rin wouldn't be unusual or anything.
Although that statement isn't sourced is it?
Ah sorry about that! I wrote that;;; Back when I wrote it, some fans were discussing who Ashe's closest voice counterpart was and their final decision was Vic Mignogna. Not in an insulting way, but more of a comparison way. Ashe himself even commented and joked about it saying that his voice does sound a lot like Vic Mignogna's voice, but in no way did he purposely imitate Vic Mignogna. I thought it was an interesting conversation, so I added it to the description to give people who've never heard of Ashe's voice a gist of what kind of voice others describe as similar to Ashe's voice. Feel free to remove that if you like, since no one really talks about that now.

Okay, in all those cases it appears that the singer doesn't mind being labeled as being similar to so and so, so it's alright to leave those statements on the pages.
So if a utaite is tagged as being similar to a certain Vocaloid, especially if the tag appears commonly and the utaite does not delete the tag, it is alright to do so.
Basically if its a popular opinion (with multiple proofs) then it is okay.
well idk... i just think of it as a kind of official source bc of being part of nnd. but w/e
okay i changed it back, with a citation needed in it... a proof that the duo is called RL! Rin Len or that she has a Rin voice (at least sth that shows, that many fans have this opinion)
i see, thanks for explaining
well but i feel like i want to remove it to the tiriva section, that it was once mentioned. (bc it's not a central aspect of ashe's voice) can you still remember, where you read this discussion?
Hrm... It was both in a tumblr ask and a youtube channel comment... But Ashe doesn't tag his asks and I saw this a long time ago on his channel, so I probably can't find it anymore. I also think we should remove it, but like entirely tbh :/ As Vic Mignogna gets more and more hate, people don't associate Ashe with him anymore. And some fans might not be happy about that comparison. I've actually wanted to change that for awhile now but I never got the chance to do so;;;
oh if vic mignogna is getting much hate, er we shouldn't associate ashe with him. i'll delete this.
I don't think comparing Ashe to Vic is too big of a problem if you are just going to remove that statement because of "hate"
We aren't trying to compare Ashe to Vic as a person in any way, we are trying to compare their voices.
Well if you're curious people seem to hate Vic because he believes that all the characters he voices aren't gay = people think he is homophobic (doesn't help that he's a devout Christian) + shippers get mad = maddness ensues. Also they say he seems to have an ego cause he's so "famous".
Well, from what I've seen in RL he doesn't seem that bad of a person??...I mean people often get mad when their idols are not the perfect person they make them out to be.
er i see...i didnt know much about this.... if anyone wants to re-add this, he/she can do it.... i'll leave it the way it is though... since it's not that much of an aspect of his voice, i guess. and also i cant agree with that comparison lol... they dont sound similar to me...
What do you think?
