As of September 2017 the pixiv link shortener service has been discontinued. If you want to know why, the reason is given under the 【p.tlサービス終了の経緯について】 section.
Not sure if I told anyone before but it appears that there's a pixiv link shortener (created by pixiv I think).
You can see it here
Apparently if you save that link that looks like this "p.tlで短縮" in a gray bubble to your bookmarks, when you go on a pixiv page and click the bookmark it'll instantly give you the short link for that page. It's suppose to work on all browers. (Info in Japanese here)
FYI I tested it on and Firefox and Chrome and both work for me
So I guess I'll be changing the tutorial to use this link for sourcing pictures...
oohh it's the one i always use! but i didn't know it was by pixiv :/
that's so cool~~~~~
Stumbling from Google, if someone is looking for a different method, then you can do it like this too:
The URL I want to shorten is https://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=58157259
You can remove a bunch of things from the link to make it https://pixiv.net/i/58157259 or pixiv.net/i/58157259
I recommend using the 'https' as it's secure, but both work.
/i/ means illustration and /u/ means user.
So for member example: https://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=2377135 -> https://pixiv.net/u/2377135
That's true, I can't believe I never pointed that out before ^^;;
Thanks a lot for pointing it out!
But when i shorten a URL from Pixiv it says
Work has been deleted or the ID does not exist.
If you go to the shortener ( http://p.tl/ ) it'll tell you that the pixiv url shortener service has been discontinued since end of September... They also put an explanation below as to why they did this.
What do you think?
