advisor: I'm from a latin country so my english is probably not the best*
hi, I was thinking of becoming a youtaite and an utaite because it has been my dream for a while
but I'm worried because I will do also dubs in spanish and english (because in spanish there aren't so much) and I was seeing if there was some requirements like:
number of followers/views
a name and an icon
if I have to gain some followers first
the PVs (because I can draw a bit so I can do my owns but I don't have a program for it)
the thing of cooperation
any other requirements
Well, there are requirements for being on this wikia ( see here: http://utaite.wikia.com/wiki/Utaite_Wiki:Requirements ) but if you upload covers you are still considered a youtaite/utaite, I think. So if you want a page on the wikia, the best thing to do is just start uploading and make some progress. And your english is actually quite good! If you don't understand something though, you can ask me in Spanish, I MIGHT be able to help because I know some Spanish. I took it in high school and university but I can only remember so much now, haha. Anyways, good luck~! Feel free to ask anything, I will answer what I can!
thank you, and is ok, I'm used to talk mainly in english on the internet
but I still have some flaws nwn
thank you for your help
Utaite basically means singer, and Youtaite is a portmanteau of Utaite and YouTube, so if you sing and upload your covers on YouTube/Nico Nico Douga, you are a Youtaite/Utaite horray! ;DD
Please keep in mind, being featured on our wiki is not the requirement to be called an Utaite/Youtaite.
Number of followers indicate your popularity, and number of videos your activity, and you don't have to "gain some followers first", because it's more logical if you get followers while people discover your covers, and not in advance.
About the name, I'd say it's absolutely your choice. Some singers for example are just spontaneously inspired by something they see nearby at that moment, some other names might have some much more deep meaning.
However, I'd personally refrain from using 'overused' names to avoid ambiguity, in worst case it might even lead to offencive comments etc., accusing you of wanting to "use one's fame" :O
The icon will more likely change over time. If you want to depict yourself, you can draw it your own, or ask a friend. But I've also seen people using stuffed toys, etc. as their avatars. That's not quite an important matter.
When you're just starting out as an Utaite/Youtaite, don't worry, you don't need a fancy pancy PV (Just grabbing the original PV is just fine). If you would still want to have one, I guess the most simple one is only one/few picture(s), not/barely moving/changing, (because it's easier than animating).
For collaborations, you can audition for choruses, I guess. and also if I reall correctly, there's a forum for Youtaite. You might also have to ask someone to help you mix things, and animate things, if you think it's necessary. And I'm not quite sure, but I think Singlink is a community for Utaite and they do choruses.
If you're going to be an utaite on Nico Nico Douga, I'd say it's favorable to at least know some slightest bit of Japanese.
[Sorry that's a long answer, I hope I wrote everything understandable, but no hablo espagnol (was this right? o.o) sorry]
thank you, that really helped a lot nwn
and yes I know a bit of japanese (just a bit)
and yes that was kind of right XD but is ok because there is no ñ in english (instead of gn you use ñ) even the grammar was right, is difficult to have good grammar in spanish when you are english
What do you think?
