Will they be holding it again?
Yeah, it was a nice concept!
Yes yes! Even though some people could recognize the singers, I myself could not since I don't listen to YT Singers often, so I found that it was a really great oppotunity to listen to singers with an unbiased outlook!(?).
I actually did find a lot of nice singers in it though ^_^
In times like these it makes me wish the wiki could hold chorus battles but I don't think we could give out any nice prizes....nor do we have the qualitfications to judge.....
Not that anyone would join in the first place orz
I found nice singers through it too!
That would be cool if the wiki did! I would join ^-^
Well, I still think it would be fun. C: I think it'd be a really cool idea. It'd be cool if you ever got a chance to try it someday.
There are chorus battles like NCCB that are held purely just for fun, so I guess you could make one like that. But with less problems and bias, of course...
Ah really?! Hmmm maybe I'll talk to Jun about it....
Yes of course >:D I mean most of the admins here pretty much have OCD which is why we edit so much so I don't think it'll be too much of a problem in terms of organization haha. Also...I quite sure all of us don't really know many YouTube singers (except a popular few which really are amazing at singing *cough*Ashe*cough*) so I don't think there can much of any bias in the first place XD
The main problem, I feel, is that choruses seem to have judges that can properly rate people on their mixing, for example, and I don't think I can do that since I don't really have much musical knowledge. For me I just "feel" that it is right...and I don't think that, that's a valid form of judging....though I hear that, that method (the rating one I mean) is controversial as well?....
Hmmm the only other person I know that has valid vocal training is Raspomme (another admin) so I could ask her about helping with judging....
I could maybe ask one of my friends in RL that has music training to help too hm.....
I don't mind us organizing a chorus battle. It seems like a nice idea~
I think that the more important aspects of judging would be mixing and aniamting, because it's hard to judge art as some people don't have their own artists
As mixing and animating are things that any group can do (with varying levels of quality, of course), I would say that those two parts are the most important. Some people also like to judge based on pronounciation, but those are still the minority.
Oh, and by 'bias', I meant as in how points/rankings are allocated. In NCCB, there was a large problem after the round 1 results were out because what rank you got was purely based on how many votes you could get. So, the youtaites who had more friends could get their friends to vote for them, resulting in the same groups getting top for the different categories.
Heyy PineapplePen I moved the convo to a more relevant place
I hope you don't mind too much o.o;;
What do you think?
