Woohoo its time for me to join the fray \o/
Really this discussion has really gotten out of hand. If I had known that it would get this long, I would've given my two cents in earlier and just ended it quickly.
As the head honcho of all head honchos here (unofficial title given to me by me fuhahaha) it time to make my official statement
Everyone may have already asserted these claims in one form or another but regardless I will summarizing them for extra clarity.
- Main statement. Details will follow afterwards
I think that while not all the admins + a few other editors may fully support the act of reprinting, we all agree that it has its uses, most notably to serve as a gateway to that Utaite fandom.
So at this point, regardless of what you say, there will be no further changes to the reprinting guide. We will not be deleting it.
- Main arguments you presented + refutes for all of them
Reprints do not give proper credit
- This is inevitable as not everyone has the common sense for this, as such we can only encourage & raise awareness for people to credit properly
Most Utaite do not like reprints
- This is really hard to claim and honestly I've seen equal stances for both Utaite that don't and do mind reprints
Steals views
- I can say that this "may" be true for popular utaite but I don't think it's seriously that much of an amount to make a big difference since they are, well, popular
- There's the chance that it can bring awareness to some utaite & give views, especially to the not so popular ones (For the record yes I've seen this happen)
Using NND instead
- Unfamiliar to use - it takes time to learn (as all things)
- Awareness of the site is also another issue as even with an English version out it is still essentially a Japanese based site with mainly Japanese content while YouTube on the other hand is considered a more world-wide site
- They also operate differently, especially in terms of comments, so on a social issue being able to connect with English (or vice versa) speaking fans may be more important for some
- This isn't always an issue but there's a chance of NND not working in some countries (ex. China (and yes I know because this happened to a friend))
- For some people it may be inconvenient to have two (or more) accounts. Cross posting can be a pain you know.
Although nowadays you can connect everything with Twitter and/or Facebook some may not want such accounts to be associated with NND.
Of course in the end, I think most Utaite fans will eventually convert to NND as they understand the importance of showing support so its not too much of a problem? (This is a rhetorical question)
I want this wiki to have options rather than force an option on them, so to say. Unless something is illegal yeah.

@TisRis
First of all I recommend that you double check the definition of words that you use because they do not always mean what you think.
Unprofessional and Incompetent may seem similar but they mean very different things.
Meo explains what her terms mean (as they can vague) so even if they could be misunderstood the first time around, they could be understood in her follow up post which, honestly, from your reply to the follow up post, you totally didn't seem to register at all and seemed to insist your own interpretation on her words.
For clarity, as Meo's English is not always the greatest, she meant fanclub in positive light, as in a group with more focused goals towards certain "idols," so to speak, vs. the wiki which has more generalized goals and does not necessarily focus on a specific "idol".
I'm not going to go too much into detail about this as it could ridiculously long and I'm not interested in writing that much.
Lol. Just cause Meo said putting a download guide on the wiki was inappropriate for such a database doesn't mean it's true. Since when was that "rule" deemed to be a word of god? Also from what I can tell she doesn't mean download in the way that you think.
Honestly I can't believe this was even counted that as an argument in the first place.

"It seems most people have agreed that the downloading guide is unnecessary and should be removed."
Literally only you and Mizo in this thread think it should be removed. Everyone else doesn't have much of a problem with it.
Alright I think that should cover everything.
If you're confused about something I wrote feel free to ask
