Paperblossom's recent edit felt like a good time to bring this up.
I don't feel that including real names is appropriate on the wikia. Whilst it is known that many utaite do have facebook, they use their alias for a reason. I think that they should be removed as they are used without permission.
People who really want to know can find them out, but it seems like a stalker level invasion of privacy. We should be respecting privacy, just like we shouldn't be reprinting videos without permission or sharing face pictures when they've asked us not to. It's OK to publish facts that are generally mentioned on their blogs and things, of course, but most keep their real names private or less easily found and we should be respecting that.
(Edited to clarify)
So you're suggesting, to remove the names that required more research, and only keep the ones that are easily found?
Kind of. I'm suggesting we remove all real names that aren't either in the profile section of their blogs, on their twitter profile section, or their profile page on their official websites. If a fanpage on facebook is run and maintained by the actual utaite (not just acknowledged as existing) and includes their name then that's fine, but their personal, private facebook pages should remain private.
Very sorry for the late reply.
I would suggest to handle it like with real life pictures. If a singer mentions they want to keep something secret, we'll remove the names and add a reference, that they want to keep it secret.
What do you think?
