I've read all related articles on the wikia about the issue, but I still feel a bit uneasy about a solution so I hope someone can help;;
I recently covered Mafumafu's Yume no Mata Yume. I've used his instrumental that was provided on piapro. As many said, if they provided an intrumental, it's most likely an okay to allow people to use it, and I have also left a comment to inform that I'd be using it and also thanked him for it! But when I uploaded it to YT, I got a copyright from NBC jpn which Mafumafu is signed to. So I can't use the track what so ever;;
I was wondering if I should try to email Mafumafu about it and ask for permission unless anyone says otherwise that maybe I should just avoid uploading it in general;; (I know some Japanese in general, just my grammer and vocab may be a bit wonky.) I wouldn't want to bother him if it was unnecessary. I just wanted to upload the cover to celebrate his birthday... yeah. I just got back to uploading covers again and wanted to start uploading again. But the comeback was a copyright flop haha.. Please send some advice over ><
Yes that is why I was surprised to get the copyright, so I am not sure... I have seen other covers of Yume no Mata Yume uploaded on YouTube as well so I am wondering about it. I just sent an email for permission. Though, I am not sure if he still uses the email he linked so I will wait. I will probably avoid covering any of his songs until I can get hold of a solution;; - I hope you get your reply soon ><
I mean Mafumafu probably wants to give permission for his instrumentals, but the label he signed under might not agree, and I don't think there's anything Mafumafu can do about it. So even if you email him, and he's okay with it, it doesn't mean his label is...
But it's really such a bummer that your comeback was ruined by the copyright strike!
Make sure what you received is a copyright strike and not just a copyright ID claim. If it is a copyright strike, dispute it.

I have a question. Is there anyway to contact mafumafu? (I would like to ask him a question) I cannot use line as I don't have the app and my parents don't allow me to download it but mafumafu has an email right? Where can I get the email? I don't see it in the descriptions of his YouTube videos. (I'm not sure if this is the right place to put it though)
You can always create a new discussion post, if you have a question!
But concerning your question, I could always try publicly tweeting to him @uni_mafumafu.
There’s a Contact page on his website: http://uni-mafumafu.jp/contact/
Thank you!
What do you think?
