Alright so, even though this wiki says that LilyPichu is an utaite, I'm not so sure, can someone clarify if she's an utaite for me?
"Utaite: (歌い手) is a Japanese term for people who cover previously released songs and post them on Nico Nico Douga and YouTube under the utattemita category. The term "utaite" is unique to Nico Nico Douga singers, making it different from Kashu (歌手), which means "singer" in general."
She does not use the word utattemita in her cover song title. But since she has an entry in this wiki that has not been deleted yet, I assume that she is an utaite.
^ Hmm, alright, I thank you for the information! ^^
Hellos,
her article was created by me haha ^^;; I have a weird preference for creating articles of people who barely fit the definition.
First of all, I like to distinguish further, I don't call utaite who are solely on YouTube utaite, but youtaite. But whatevs..
So is Lily a youtaite? As I said before, she qualifies to get a page on this wiki (See [[requirements]]). But as indicated on her page, we didn't call her an utaite or youtaite specifically (except for templates). She is on the wiki because she fits our wiki requirements of getting a page, as she has sung a number of utaite-ish songs; and she got a page, because I decided to make one; and the page didn't get deleted because she does fit the requirements.
That being said, I think we can all agree that when we hear LilyPichu we don't think of utaite/youtaite. And being a youtaite/singing isn't her main activity, in fact I don't think she has covered anything in the last few years?
I would classify LilyPichu as a YouTuber, who used to do youtaite activities, but has since then has moved on to other activities. (PS: I think her Status needs to be changed to Inactive and her Years active need to be changed too)
^ Ah, alright then, I think I understand now, thank you so much for the information!! ^^
What do you think?
