A sample of a cover song by Kisuke no Yuujin
"Donut Hole", composed by Hachi

Kisuke no Yuujin (キースケの友人) is a relatively new utaite, having debuted in late 2012. As her name suggests, she is a close friend of the namanushi and mixer Kisuke, who mixes and uploads the majority of her covers.

She is well known for her versatile and highly flexible voice, as she is capable of singing in both a very natural-sounding male voice and a markedly feminine one. She switches between both registers with relative ease - all without the aid of voice editing software, making her a ryouseirui, or "trap" singer.

As she tends to cover chorus songs, singing the roles by herself. In these, her voices are almost indiscernible from each other (in fact, it is stated that she is capable of more than 20 audibly different voices[1]); this is most apparent in covers like "Yankee Boy・Yankee Girl"Nv and "Tokyo Dennou Tantei Dan"Nv. In addition to singing, she can also speak in a variety of voices, most notably seen in her cover of "Kochira, Koufuku Anshin Iinkai Desu."Nv.

Initially, her gender was kept a secret, though she had hinted at being female through her use of strictly feminine first-person pronouns. However, due to a lack of actual confirmation, it remained a frequent topic of debate among fans until very recently. In May 2013, she put an end to speculation via a parody cover of "E? Aa, Sou.", "♂?, Iya, ♀ da."Nv, in which the lyrics were rewritten to express her irritation at being mistaken for a boy by listeners.

  • "Kisuke no Yuujin" is technically not her utaite name; however, she has resigned to the fact that most people know her by that name. While she prefers that people call her "tomodachi-san" or "yuujin-san", she is also known by the name "Terumo" (てるも), derived from "utawaseterumono" (歌わせてる者, lit. "person who was made to sing") and did prefer that name briefly before deciding that the "Terumo" nickname was too confusing for new viewers and requested that people refrain from calling her that in video comments.
  • She and Kisuke often post "behind the scenes" videos for each of her covers, offering insight into their personalities and character dynamic. These videos can all be found in the same mylist as her solo covers.
  • Her blood type is AB.[2]
  • She is 170 cm tall (5'7"), and weighs 56 kg (123 lb).[2]
  • Despite her tomboyish image, her bust size is often noted to be rather large, a fact that Kisuke tends to bring up in their namahousou (specifically, the fact that she wears an F-cup bra[3]), much to her chagrin. As such, she is often depicted as being quite buxom in fanart.
  • One of her main hobbies is cooking, and she often posts pictures of the various sweets and meals she makes on Twitter.
  • She tends to sing parts of covers that require her to sound masculine in the morning, as she finds it easier to pitch her voice low right after waking up.[4]
  • Her favorite foods are Black Thunder chocolate bars.[1]
  • She doesn't drink or smoke, citing both health reasons and Kisuke's behavior when drunk.[2]
  • She has two younger brothers, with whom she has covered "Nico Nico Douga Ryuuseigun"Nv.
  • Although she has become more or less well-known since her debut, she still harbors some misgivings about popularity, not going out of her way to advertise her covers and telling people things "they'll scare you, so it's fine if you don't watch my covers" and "please don't mylist this".[4]
  • She enjoys imitating voice actors Sugita Tomokazu and Suzumura Kenichi.[4]
