Meychan (めいちゃん) is a male utaite who started in 2011 when he was 15 years old. He started singing as a hobby when he was a 3rd year in middle school, and recorded his first cover after failing his high school entrance exams, and later when he became more popular while he was in college, he began singing seriously.[2]
Singing calmly in the middle range for males, Meychan controls his nasal voice well with little dissonance, especially in some of his earlier covers. His voice became more cute and clear around 2015 and later, such as his in his cover of Meryuu . He showcases his ability of making little screams and grunting sounds in his cover of the rock song Rouningyou no Yakata . In addition, he performed an impressive cover of Kami no Manimani in which he sang 17 chorus voices by himself.
In the early days of his career, most of his mastering covers were made by the fellow utaite Amamori and then Konuko. Phony was his most popular cover with more than 19 million views on Youtube as of February 2023, but it was since replaced by his cover of noripy's Migikata no Chou , which has over 24.8 million views as of July 2025. He is especially popular with viewers when he sings jazzy-like songs.
In May 2016, he announced that he will hold his first one-man live on August 22, 2016, when he was 20 years old.[3] Having known that he was eventually going to choose a career of being a singer, he organized it by himself.[2]
He runs the Nikuchomoranma channel with fellow utaite and friend Gero since 2019 (Kony was also part of the group but graduated in 2021). He has been a participant in Gero’s Chang Gero Sonic at the Odaiba Yagai Tokusetsu Kaijou chain in Tokyo in 2018, being one of the 25 utaite to sing in front of a crowd of 5000 people.[4] Since then, he appeared until 2020, and is singing alongside other utaite in the theme songs Mind Craft (2018), Windfall Dance (2019), and A Song I Tried to Sing (2020).
